QCB Financial Literacy

Improving the financial literacy of our community since 2010

Financial responsibility and education are keys to the long-term success of all people

As a locally-owned bank dedicated to serving the Oklahoma City metropolitan area, we’re an active participant in our community’s efforts to improve the financial education of our citizens. One of the key ways we contribute is by providing financial education to our local schools.

What We Offer

Quail Creek Bank provides the Foundations in Personal Finance curriculum published by financial guru, Dave Ramsey. This curriculum provides educators with comprehensive lesson plans, video lessons, and supporting activities to help students understand financial responsibility and sound decision-making.

How We Help

Each semester, Quail Creek Bank sends someone from our financial literacy team to speak to the students and reinforce a topic of the teacher’s choosing at each of our sponsored schools. We also host field trips to our facility where students are exposed to every aspect of banking and encouraged to ask questions and explore the financial world.

The Results

As a result of our partnership with schools and learning more about the financial challenges young people face, we developed two accounts designed especially for kids and young adults, LINQ & LINQUP. LINQ is our student checking account designed to teach kids how to appropriately manage their money. LINQUP is a savings account structured to start them off on the right track of learning to save money first. These accounts will set a young person up for success by providing all of the tools needed to appropriately manage their money. This strong foundation, coupled with our hands-on approach of providing online and mobile banking training, is second to none in the OKC market.

Helping students learn to achieve financial freedom and success is incredibly rewarding. When students hear a banker speak of the real-world application of lessons they learn in the classroom, you can almost see their wheels turning! I am grateful to partner with community schools and educators to help prepare our future leaders for success. Teaching financial literacy is one of the most rewarding parts of working for Quail Creek Bank.

A daughter of two retired Oklahoma educators and a secondary education major myself, I feel passionate about the importance of education; especially personal finance. Educating students in the classroom or customers during the new account opening process and beyond, I am dedicated to helping our youth succeed in their financial goals.

I am so grateful to join such a great organization that gives back to our community. As a member of the banking industry for many years, it is very exciting to be part of such an incredible program that will benefit our future generations for years to come. Learning to make the right financial decisions from a young age is important now more than ever and is something young adults can carry with them the rest of their lives. The best part is, I get to help and be a part of your financial success. Teaching in the classroom, opening your accounts, and being your Personal Banker for your future – I look forward to helping with your financial goals!
